Good morning everyone! Just a little discussion about the swim course. Couple quick hits for the day!
We have PLENTY of room to spread out in the water so, similar to what we've been able to do in the past couple races, we will split up our swimmers in to two (2) groups, with the Males (with relay swimmers) going first and Females going second. If you are doing the Aquabike, make sure you start with your appropriate gender. This will be an IN WATER START, and you will easily be able to touch at the start.
Good news!! We went down to the site yesterday and there were NO JELLYFISH apparent! That is awesome!!! And the Worcester County Parks and Recreation folks have already put our exit stairs in, so we are ready to go!
Bad news (kinda).... at 5pm, the water temperature was 80.4 degrees, meaning that if we had the race yesterday, you would be able to wear a wetsuit, but would be ineligible for awards. I suspect that a full day of sun warmed the water up, so we are certainly hoping to be under the USA Triathlon's 78 degree water temperature on race day, so you can wear a wetsuit if you like.
We won't have the buoys set out until Sunday morning, but we have attached a copy of the course. It is pretty straight forward, with just ONE turn on it.
